Evergreen Love Songs #3: Goo Goo Dolls - Iris

Only the intro itself is already capable to stop this ordinary 90s girl from doing other stuff and then listen to the song. Very awesome song.

The Sound of Music

Edelweiss  ~

The song which has been taught by a teacher when this ordinary 90s girl was a primary school student. That is the first time she heard that song. Because she likes to sing, she sang Edelweiss at home and surprisingly her mother know about this song!

Doe ~ a deer a female deer~
Ray ~ a drop of golden sun~
Me ~ a name i call myself~

This ordinary 90s girl's auntie who is a piano teacher taught her this song when she was a kid. The song is amusing and easy catching. She thought it's a basic lesson for piano lesson :P

Later, she has been introduced to "The Sound of Music", a very classic movie which is based on true story.

The movie is kind of long - almost 3 hours. When she was a kid, sometimes she fell asleep whle watching it. But she enjoyed the movie. The story is nice (though at that time she didn't understand about the "war" part), the songs are nice, the settings are pretty, the children wear so classic style dresses, etc.

As getting older, she realized that this is a great movie. No wonder her mother, her auntie, & her sister like this movie too. She thinks The Sound of Music is her mother's favorite movie. Because her mother's dream destination is "Austria, where The Sound of Music was filmed". She said that! :D

From all of the Von Trapp's children in this movie, she likes the one with brown hair color..
Ah! Found a picture with number at google. The #6 one is her favorite! Pretty :P

And this is the cutest song :

auf Wiedersehen, good night ~

Favorite Disney's Princess

When this ordinary 90s girl typed "Princess" at google, at first she thought maybe google will show some ladies with tiaras or big hat, neat outfit, etc.

But... apparently google shows Disney's Princesses !

Actually she doesn't know how many character is in Disney's Princesses group. But usually, people recognized 6 Disney's Princesses.
*This ordinary 90s girl have ever asked her little cousin (girl) who is 6 years old and adores Disney's Princesses, the cousin said there's 6 Disney's Princesses*

Jasmine, Snow White, Aurora, Cinderella, Belle, Ariel

But.. there are also some pictures which show 7 Disney's Princesses :

Belle, Jasmine, Aurora, Snow White
Mulan, Cinderella, Ariel

or.. 8 Disney's Princesses (i seldom see this composition) :
Jasmine, Snow White, Mulan, Aurora, Cinderella, Pocahontas (is it her name? omg i even don't really know >.<), Cinderella, Ariel

This ordinary 90s girl think that Disney's Princesses are classic & timeless..

Because.. People who was born in 2000 up still know about Disney's Princesses !

Even her cousin(S) - yes cousins with S - really really like Disney's Princesses. A cousin likes Aurora, a cousin likes Cinderella, another one likes Belle. Their birthday cakes are still using Disney's Princesses figures. And products which has Disney's Princesses on are still selling like hot cakes.

When this ordinary 90s girl was a kid, she watched Cinderella, Beauty & The Beast, Snow White, etc. with her aunties. So maybe women at her aunties' generation (mostly around 30s to early 40s age) like Disney's Princesses and passed it on to their children who are mostly born at year 2000.

And... this ordinary 90s girl is still liking Disney's Princesses..
*wondering when will Disney make classic movies like these again.. Rapunzel is okay.. but guess it won't stay classic as Cinderella*
so she thinks that maybe she wants to tell her children about these classic movies too. Hmm.. Guessing that her children's generation might like Disney's Princesses too!

Then.. her cousins.. who are now so in love with Disney's Princess... must be telling her children too.. and so on.

So, which one is your favorite Disney's Princess?

This ordinary 90s girl like ....

Belle from Beauty & The Beast !!

She finds Belle really charming... especially because of her very beautiful dress. When Belle's dancing, the gown is soooo beautiful... She loves how the gown will be swinging and then return to its proper place. When the gown return to its proper place after swinging, that moment is so ... *inhale*

Evergreen Love Songs #2: Blue - U Make Me Wanna

" You make wanna surrender my soul "

That part of lyric had made this ordinary 90s girl surrender her soul love for this song.

Until now she thinks that "you make me wanna surrender my soul" is so passionate sentence. Because surrender is like you have given up your wants, etc. in favor of another. Even when we love someone a lot, it's so hard to "surrender" when we have different opinions, etc. Maybe we can say "ok" but our heart actually still can't accept it. So, surrender is really a ..... losing face condition - but that's what makes it become so strong.

At that time, this ordinary 90s girl wrote "You make me wanna surrender my soul" on a paper and then stick it to her cupboard because she love this sentence a lot.

Besides, this song got nice music. She loves the music at the "everytime you see me, what do you see? i feel like i'm a poor man and you're the queen, oh baby you're the only thing that i really need.. baby that's why...." part. There's that "tuing tuing" sound which sounds so great (according to this ordinary 90s girl). *actually mustn't try to describe it as "tuing tuing" coz now it sounds like there's pink piggie with curly tail jumping here and there."

And to make this song a complete nice song, there's Simon Webbe's voice. His voice is so....... w-o-w.
This ordinary 90s girl love Simon Webbe's voice very very much. Usually she only focused on listening to his voice in whole songs :D
Try to listen 0:47-0:49 , try to listen his voice among others. His voice is really..... special ..
If you already realized that his voice is special, try to focused on his voice in whole songs, feels nice! LOL!

Also, the music video of this song is enjoyable to see. The colors are gorgeous. And the view is great too.

Enjoy ! and see if the song can make you surrender like me :P

Evergreen Love Songs #1: Backstreet Boys - All I Have To Give

This ordinary 90s girl might post many songs - especially love songs.

Some love songs are "evergreen" love songs according to her. She can listen to the songs again and again. Tomorrow, next week, next month, next year, always .... So, for her future grandchildren, i'll give you my advice.. When it's your grandma's birthday and you don't know what to give, copy her the (her version of) evergreen songs. She will listen to the songs much more times than she will wear the pearl earrings which your parents might give to her :D

She will share her version of evergreen love songs (in random order). Hope you like the songs too !
And hope the songs can remind you anything from the past and then you'll smile :)

Backstreet Boys - All I Have To Give

This song is very beautiful..
When this ordinary 90s girl listen to the intro, her heart always melts..

Its music cause her a serious either heart breaking or loving.

When she is heart broken, she will listen more to the lyrics. *the lyrics is real nice*
(and then cry.. :D)

When she is loving, she will listen more to its music.
(and then take a deep breath as if she has inhale the music)

It is better to listen to this song while watching at the official music video because the video is calming.
( i hate Sony Music / SME who doesn't want to let people share the official music video !! )

* Special memories of this ordinary 90s girl:

- she memorized the lyric after her friend dictated the lyric to some friends at a same time together in classroom. At this time she still doesn't know that the song will get into her heart so much.

- she ever tried to learn the dance with her sister. she thinks that playing with hat is the most interesting dance part of this music video and she tried hard to learn it. LOL!

- at a time, she cried a lot when listening to this song. But, she still requested a radio to play this song at night around 9PM. :D

1st cassette collection

As an ordinary 90s girl, she likes pop songs so much. And of course at that time she like boybands :D

The 1st boyband's song which made her really want to own the cassette is ....

911 - Love Sensation !

When she passed by a cassette store in a skybridge between two malls in her hometown, her eyes always tried to find the brown cover cassette.

And then one day, her uncle bought her the cassette! She's so happy so she listened to the cassette every night before sleeping. And she won't fall asleep too early because .. she needs to flip the cassette to side B ! haha! Usually she fell asleep after she listened to Side B the 2nd song which is Bodyshakin' . Is it right that Bodyshakin' is the 2nd song at Side B ? If it is, omg she still remember it ! CMIIW.

She used to like the member of 911 - Lee - a lot.

Coincidentally, there's a boy named **v** - her younger sister's classmate - look like Lee 911. So she visited her sister's class a lot just to see this boy and called he boy as "Lee 911". LOL!!!!!! I bet her sister still remember about this and will laugh when reading this.

I don't know if the boy still remember about this, but when this ordinary 90s girl saw him at facebook - who has grewn up and doesn't look like Lee 911 anymore - she clicked "add as friend" button while smiling.

I'm so fed up with people telling me to be someone else but me

At early 2000, this ordinary 90s girl is at her early teenager age. At this time, like other teenagers, she was trying to find her image. She saw her other girl friends who always hang out by themselves  as a kinda exclusive group (and that group's considered as a "popular" group by ordinary 90s girl and her "not popular friends"). Of course ordinary 90s girl's in "not popular group" because she's ordinary. LOL!

Sounds sooo like typical teenager movies, right? LOL!
But anyway, it's true and it's happening.
*that's why until now i still like to watch teenager movies*

As expected, because this ordinary 90s girl felt that she's in not popular group and almost invisible to many people, she hardly find her image. Sometimes she feel like she is this way, sometimes she feel like she is that way. :D

Because she thought that most people prefer the girls who are like her "popular" friends, she felt that her society wants everyone to be like that "popular" friends. But, she is NOT popular.

So she tried building her image that she's different from the one in the "popular" group.
She didn't want to be feminine, she always cut her hair really short, etc.
She became rebellious so she felt like she's overprotected. LOL!!!

Because the lyric suits her mood that time, she really like this Overprotected song by Britney Spears :

my 1st post is about Wannabe

This is my 1st post !

According to the title, Wannabe .. Does it sound familiar to you ?

Wannabe is a song by ...

SPICE GIRLS !

It was pop songs era back then. Group bands - mostly consist of 5 persons - were so trending at that time. Many people like Spice Girls as every member has their own image so many people with different characters like them.

I still can remember their nicknames very well without taking a peek at other website :

Emma Bunton - Baby Spice (most of my girl friends like her the most)

Geri - Ginger Spice (i think she is kinda so-so, but i was surprised that she has a really great impact on the group. After she left the group, Spice Girl's not that popular anymore)

Melanie C. - Sporty Spice (she looks really cool with her neat ponytail and her voice is really "sporty" too)

Melanie B. - Scary Spice (i think she  is kinda scary because of her hair . LOL! )

Victoria Adams (now Beckham) - Posh Spice (ah... my favorite one <3 i like her because she looks so... lady :D )

I knew Spice Girls since i listened to this Wannabe song - which i mispronounced it at that time as [wa na be]. English is not my first language :D But actually until now i still don't know why they wrote "Wannabe" instead of "Wanna be".

Wannabe is one of the most challenging songs for me until today (i still sing this song if i go to karaoke!).

This part by Mel B is so breathtaking (after you finished this part. LOL):

So here's a story from A to Z
You wanna get with me, you gotta listen carefully
We got M in the place who likes it in your face,
We got G like MC who likes it on
and easy V doesn't come for free (she's a real lady),
and as for me.. ha you'll see..
Slam your body down and wind it all around
Slam your body down and wind it all around

Usually right before this part, i inhale a lot! And then i hold my breath.. after that... hah... :D
*usually it's hard to hold my breath when i reach the "she's a real lady" part. LOL!

Let's sing ! ha-ha-ha-ha .. (0:48)
